Police report: January 5

The following incidents were reported to the Princeton Police Department between Dec. 27, 2011, and Jan. 2, 2012. The times listed are when the complaints were filed and not necessarily when the incidents occurred. Compiled by Joel Stottrup.


Tuesday, Dec. 27

1:41 p.m. Someone observed person crouching near fence and trees between highway and parking lot in area of 911 Northland Dr. When observer checked out situation, an unidentified male quickly left area in vehicle. No damage reported to any vehicles.

2:02 p.m. Persons observed getting out of vehicle in front of residence on West Branch Street and looking in windows in front of residence, then went to rear of residence and remained for about 10 minutes. Persons gone when police arrived.

7:29 p.m. Princeton Police were asked by Milaca Police to look for missing female.

10:44 p.m. Female reported having seizures and found to be unresponsive and still having seizures upon arrival. Family reported female having consumed a liter of vodka earlier and also being on medication. Female became responsive after being given oxygen and was then taken to hospital.


Wednesday, Dec. 28

12:11 a.m. Report of possible domestic. Report to be sent to Mille Lacs family services and probation departments.

8:16 a.m. Officer stood by while person spoke to renter.

Thursday, Dec. 29

5:32 p.m. Report of kitten stuck in storm drain. Officer attempted to coax out.

8:28 p.m. Woman reported that when she and her son were walking to the Princeton ice arena entrance, a male began following them, coming from the area of a pond at the Meadow View housing development. Male reported appearing under the influence of something and yelling, “I’m going to kill you,” and was last seen walking in the parking lot. Officers set up perimeter and used a police dog to try to track. Unable to locate male party who was described as 5’, 10”, slender, and in his mid-30s with no glasses or facial hair. Was also reported wearing stocking hat, camouflage coat and jeans.

Friday, Dec. 30

5:09 a.m. Dispatched deer in area of Highway 169 and Highway 95 on ramp.

7:51 a.m. Report of suspicious male in camouflage jacket in woods in area of 1415 Meadowview Dr., looking at person. Police unable to locate.

1:09 p.m. Coborn’s reported theft of two videos for $32.76 loss.

Saturday, Dec. 31

1:57 p.m. Report of theft of Garmin GPS valued at $250 from vehicle sometime overnight on the 1400 block of 16th Avenue North.

2:14 p.m. Complaint made of threats.

8:46 p.m. Suspect placed sexually explicit note under person’s door.

9:55 p.m. Stopped vehicle for semaphore violation and cited driver for driving after suspension.

10:11 p.m. Report of loud party. Subjects cited for multiple offenses. Parents notified and picked up juveniles from location.

Sunday, Jan. 1

12:10 a.m. Princeton officer arrested Shane Douglas Grund, 23, in Elk River for DWI and cited for careless driving and failure to yield.

1:08 a.m. Police observed male running south on Plastic Products property and lying down near building. Identified person who was on probation and had blood alcohol reading of .182. Transported to a residence.

9:33 a.m. Subject’s blood sugar was too low and was unsuccessful in attempt to raise it. Transported to hospital.

6:30 p.m. Vehicle rear-ended another vehicle after sliding on glazed ice at intersection with stop sign near Coborn’s. Minor damage.
