Milaca One Act Play to give public show

Milaca High School’s One Act Play, “Agnes of God,” placed second at the 4A sub-section contest in Rockford last Saturday.

The play advances to the section contest this Saturday in Milaca. Six schools will compete for the number one spot that will advance to the state festival in February.

Schools competing this Saturday include: Foley, Milaca, Mora, Pine City, St. Paul Academy, and St. Croix Lutheran. The competition is open to the public and begins at 9:30 a.m.

“Agnes of God” will have a public performance this Friday at 8 p.m. in the Dahlager Theater. Admission is by donation.

Milaca’s cast consists of Sophie Bauer as Agnes, Annie Carter as Mother Miriam Ruth, and Chloe Chambers as Doctor Martha Livingston. The play is a mature murder mystery of lights and shadows. The shadows in this play are Anna Swanson, Jessi Deppa, John Ferguson, Mitch DeHaan, Marissa Veurink, Chelsie Othoudt and Dylan McCann. Miles Larson and  Bobbi Jo Gave make up the stage crew, and technical support is provided by Reice Golden.
