The Milaca High School Band Program participated in the Region 5 Solo Ensemble Contest that was Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the school.

Students from Milaca, Mora and Foley high schools were featured at the event. Milaca fielded 25 entries in the contest and earned nine excellent and 16 superior ratings. Milaca also earned “Best at Site” awards at all three contests during the day.

“I was really proud of our kids today,” Band Director Andrew Nelson said. “They worked hard in preparation and it showed in performance. The judges commented about how well prepared all of the students were from each school, so the “Best at Site” awards were really earned today.
