Two injured in Highway 95 crash

Two Princeton area residents were injured in a second Saturday, March 17, 2011 crash, this one on Highway 95 at 120th Avenue.

Mitchell R. Carlson, 18, of Princeton and Alison R. Schutz, 16, of Princeton, were both taken by ambulance to Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton.

Schutz was westbound on Highway 95 at about 8 p.m. Saturday and making a left turn onto southbound 120th Avenue. Carlson was also westbound on Highway 95 and passed a westbound vehicle driving between the Schutz and Carlson vehicles. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Carlson did not see the Schutz vehicle slow to make the turn onto 120th Avenue and struck the left center of the vehicle in a “sideswipe” type action.

The crash caused heavy damage to the center of the Schutz vehicle and the front end of the Carlson vehicle, the State Patrol said.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital where they were treated for minor injuries. The vehicles needed to be towed from the scene.
