Fighting smoke at Shipwreck

Baldwin firefighters carry a ladder into a building at the Shipwreck Boat Repair business near Coborn’s in Princeton at about 20 minutes after 9 p.m. on May 3 to assist fellow firefighters inside trying to locate the source of smoke and burning-plastic smell. Baldwin Fire Chief Mike Rademacher said the cause was not found but said the ceiling forced-air heater was the suspect location. A piece of plastic might have melted or burned in that area, he said. The fire call was made shortly after 9 p.m. and the firefighters cleared the scene after about an hour.
