Police Report: Week of May 24

Monday, May 14

12:12 a.m. Medical response at the Holiday station.

8:04 a.m. A minor accident was reported on Rum River Dr. S. and 3rd St. S.

1:29 p.m. Investigated a report of someone trying to pry open a window at the Jaycees’ building.

6:20 p.m. A female drove off a road into gravel, throwing up some rocks that cracked the windshield of a driver behind her. Female cited.

Tuesday, May 15

4:08 p.m. Responded to a call for Mille Lacs County in which a man was laying on the ground yelling that his house was blowing up and that the floors were moving. The man had broken out a window of his house to get out quickly. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

4:13 p.m. A 36-year-old female was arrested for shoplifting at Coborn’s.

9:16 p.m. Investigated a report of a prowler with a flashlight in complainant’s back yard in the 1200 block of 11th Ave. N. The suspect was a neighbor trying to repair his Internet connection.

Wednesday, May 16

5:25 p.m. Investigated a driving complaint involving three people on mopeds.

7:48 p.m. Investigated a report of an ATV driving down the sidewalk at Rum River Drive and Highway 95 at a high rate of speed with up to four teenagers on it. ATV located. Parent of juvenile contacted.

Thursday, May 17

8:14 a.m. Responded to an accident on 5th Ave. N. at 12th St. One driver cited for failure to yield. Both vehicles towed. No injuries reported.

6:05 p.m. A gas drive-off of $95.28 was reported at the Marathon Station.

Friday, May 18

12:55 a.m. Officer pulled over a vehicle for driving over the fog line and having a cracked windshield. Driver Michael John Freese, age 25, was arrested for suspicion of DWI. Freese was booked into the Sherburne County Jail.

9:51 a.m. A gas drive-off in the amount of $19.77 was reported at Little Dukes.

10:11 a.m. Investigated a report that a man found marijuana on top of the mailboxes at an apartment complex on West Branch Street. Officer determined that the alleged marijuana was dead mosquitoes.

5:42 p.m. Investigated a report of a man burning a mattress in his back yard in the 200 block of Willow Circle. Man advised of burning ordinance. He put out fire.

11:12 p.m. Investigated a report of juveniles with masks on pounding on doors of residence in the 1400 block of 1st Street.

Saturday, May 19

12:05 a.m. Arrested a 40-year-old male on a Benton County warrant.

2:31 a.m. Stopped a vehicle on Old County 18 for seat belt violations. Driver was cited for underage consumption of alcohol and underage drinking and driving. Two others were cited for seat belt violations and underage consumption. A citation was also issued for possession of a small amount of marijuana.

3:31 a.m. Individuals were in Mark Park after hours. One juvenile cited for possessing a small amount of marijuana and possession of cigarettes.

9:28 a.m. Responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on West Branch Street. Fire Department responded.

1:31 p.m. Responded to a motorcycle crash with injuries at the entrance to the fairgrounds.

3:40 p.m. Responded to a small grass fire at 1204 4th Ave. N. A tree broke and took down the power line.

Sunday, May 20

7:38 a.m. A downed power line was reported on 6th Street at 6th Avenue. Officer stood by until PUC arrived.

10:57 a.m. Assisted with an accident on Highway 169 and 55th Street. Injuries were reported.
