Track: Six advance to Sectional Finals

Chase Lindenfelser Wednesday in the 300m hurdles

Six Princeton High School runners advanced to the sectional finals at the Section 7AA Track & Field Championships Wednesday at Princeton High School.

Caitlin Reeeves and Katie Bialka turned in two of the top performances in the 800 meter dash and 300 meter hurdles, each turning in the best time in their respected event.

Reeves, running the 800 meter run, had a time of 2:22.06 in the preliminaries totake the first position in Saturday’s finals. Reeve’s time of 2:22.06 in the section prelims was a school record. It breaks her own 2011 record of 2:23.20.

Bialka, running the 300 hurdles, was first with a time of 46.50.

Bialka will also compete Saturday in the 100 hurdles. Her time of 16.47 earned her fifth place in the preliminaries.

The Tigers will have two runners in the girls 400 meter dash. Maddie Woods’ time of 1.02.12 was good for fourth place. Anna Oakes advanced with a 7th-place finish of 1.01.60.

The girls will also run in the relay events on Saturday.

In field events, Jadyn Bonasera just missed advancing to State in the discus

throw, coming in fourth place with a throw of 119-01. She will have another opportunity to seek a state berth Saturday in the shot-put.

Chase Lindenfelser was the lone boy to advance to Saturday’s finals. Lindenfelser’s 42.20 in the 300 meter hurdles earned him a Saturday run.

Like the girls, the boys will run their relay events on Saturday.
