Alice was born on a farm about four miles south of Foreston in Mille Lacs County on April 21, 1921 near the Pease area.  Her parents moved to Chicago, Illinois when she was about three years old.  Her father (Martin Stob) worked in one of the factories where margarine was made.  After two and one-half years they moved back to the farm.  Alice went to Pleasant View School District #6 in Mille Lacs County.  After the eighth grade she went to work for neighbors doing housework and babysitting, also milking cows by hand.  When she was 17 years old she went to work at a small restaurant in Oak Park, Minnesota.

Alice married Clarence Anderson at Glendorado Lutheran on August 16, 1941.  She was employed by Fingerhut Inc. for 23 years.  Alice worked in the RSVP program when it began in Mille Lacs County in 1987.  All of her work was at the Princeton Elim Home where she was a volunteer at the time that her husband Clarence was a resident there.  She worked in the coffee and gift shops and mended clothes for residents as well as mending Elim Home linens and draperies.

Alice was a member of the Glendorado Lutheran Church, where (in the past) she was actively involved in the Ladies Aid (Circle), Altar Guild, Sunday School and other activities.
