Irene Lundgren

Irene Alice Lundgren, age 92, of Princeton, passed away on August 2, 2012, at Grace Pointe Crossing, Gables West, in Cambridge.

Irene was born on February 21, 1920, to John and Jessie (Rabenberg) Hilfers in Nobles County.

Irene married Burnell Lundgren on November 26, 1938, in Worthington. They farmed with Burnell’s father near Worthington, until moving to Minneapolis in 1942. Irene loved being a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings for the holidays. She also enjoyed playing bingo, Yahtzee, cards and putting puzzles together.

Irene is survived by her children: Bernice Hayes of Princeton, Janice (Denny) Ask of Golden Valley, Burnell J. (Loretta) Lundgren of Milaca, Debbie (Ed) Wiyninger of Coon Rapids and Maggie (Brian) Rasmussen of Worthington; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband Burnell, son William, daughter LaVonne Baltus, granddaughter Lori, great-grandson David Olson and son-in-law  Bill Hayes.

The funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Princeton. Interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
