Hurts so good!

Casey’s General Store, with a boost from Shear Beauty,  is collecting money to send a youngster suffering from muscular dystrophy to Camp Courage.

As part of this year’s fund raiser, Casey’s employee Kenny Larsen volunteered to have his back “shaved.” Barb Beeuwsaert (left) and Shelly Eisenzimmer of Shear Beauty were happy to perform the deed Thursday morning, Aug. 23, at Casey’s. The two used a process called “sugaring” to “gently” pull the hair off Larsen’s back. The process dates back to when Egyptian pharaohs had hair removed to remain pure.

Larsen said it did hurt some but he was happy to do it.

“The kids suffering from muscular dystrophy have to suffer every day,” he said. “We want to help them out.”

Donations will be accepted at Casey’s until Sept. 8 and will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. It costs $1,000 to send one youngster to camp.
