Tiger Volleyball earns rally win against Bulldogs

Tiger volleyball took a huge step forward this season by pulling off a rally against host Becker Sept. 13, taking the tight Granite Ridge match 20-25, 19-25, 27-25, 27-25, 16-14.

Beth Scharber began the rally against Becker with two huge solo blocks to help spur the Tigers to a 3-2 GRC win Sept. 13.

Princeton did not play well in the first two games, then the team was down 19-24 in game three. Beth Scharber came through with two crucial solo blocks at that point, and the momentum began turning in the Tigers’ favor.

“I’ve never seen anything like it. Beth’s blocks were absolutely huge for us and turned the match around,” exclaimed PHS Coach Mary Patnode.

Backup setter Heather Ewert found Hailey Mattson for two tips for the final difference in Game 5.
