Police Report: Week of Sept. 17-23

Monday, Sept. 17

9 a.m. An altercation between two juveniles involving the pushing of an individual from a bike was investigated on 5th Avenue at 11th Street.

10:30 a.m. Investigated a report at the middle school of a student with a Swiss army knife.

12:45 p.m. A blue boys BMX bike was located in the 1000 block of 9th Ave. N.

1:11 p.m. A resident on 11th Street N. reported receiving correspondence from a collection agency claiming he owned $4,593 on a Verizon cell phone bill. Complainant filed an identity theft complaint.

5:10 p.m. A bank cashed a $1,000 check for a customer. Teller accidentally gave customer the check back with the cash. Officers located customer and advised to return the check.

6:35 p.m. Juveniles were reported to be jumping on picnic tables in Riverside Park. Juveniles received a verbal warning.

Tuesday, Sept. 18

3:09 p.m. Complainant in the 1300 block of 15th Avenue N. found a dead rabbit with an arrow in it in the back yard.

5:01 p.m. A cell phone and cigarettes were stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of 8th Ave. S. while driver was making a delivery.

6:56 p.m. A 27-year-old male who was the passenger in a vehicle being fueled at a gas station on 19th Avenue N. was taken into custody on a Wright County warrant for failing to appear for sentencing on 5th degree controlled substance charges.

7:49 p.m. The parent of a teenage girl reported the girl was receiving explicit text messages from a teenage male. Parent wanted texts stopped.

9:08 p.m. Employee at a gas station on 19th Avenue N. reported finding drug paraphernalia in a rest room. Paraphernalia appeared to be used for consuming methamphetamine. Item was seized, destroyed and disposed of.

Wednesday, Sept. 19

1:55 a.m. Officer observed driver pull into Coborn’s lot and hit a center island curb. Driver then stopped in an egress between parking spots. Officer observed three used canisters of canned whipping cream on the driver’s side floor. A fourth used canister and an unopened canister were on the passenger seat. Officer talked with driver, who admitted huffing. An 18-year-old male was arrested and booked into the Sherburne County Jail.

10:59 a.m. The theft of campaign signs was reported at three locations.

3:47 p.m. A camera bag containing a Canon 60D camera with a 16 gb card, 50-80mm lens, 18-200mm lens and a Dell laptop were stolen from a vehicle parked at Fairview Northland Medical Center.

Thursday, Sept. 20

1:57 p.m. Recovered an abandoned bicycle at 9th Avenue N. and 11th Street N. Bike was a purple Mongoose.

10:11 p.m. Responded to a possible burglary in progress in the 1600 block of 12th Avenue N. Garage screen door found to have been tampered with. Entry appeared to have been made. County canine unit responded. Suspect was not located.

Friday, Sept. 21

8:29 a.m. A Kindle Fire e-reader was reported taken from a student’s locker at the middle school. E-reader valued at $200.

9:40 a.m. Officer intervened with a report of a possible fight planned in Mark Park.

Saturday, Sept. 22

12:33 a.m. A 25-year-old female and a 31-year-old male were arrested following a domestic altercation.

Sunday, Sept. 23

5 p.m. Assisted Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Department with a disturbance in the 7800 block of Highway 95. Original report suggested a gun might be involved. That was not the case. A juvenile female was transported home and released to a parent.

7:55 p.m. Three males were reported to be throwing fruit at vehicles as they drove on 18th Avenue N. Juveniles identified and talked to. They were released to their parents.
