Princeton man hits motorcycle head-on; cyclist dies

A motorcyclist was killed during a collision with a vehicle towing a pickup truck at 9:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, on Hwy. 47 near Bradford.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Joseph R. Bollin, 46, of Princeton, was driving a 1996 Mercury Sable pulling a pickup truck heading northbound when he crossed the center line and collided with a 2002 Kawk Road-Strt, driven by Matthew C. Stuart, 36, of Isanti.

Stuart, who was heading southbound, was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

According to the State Patrol, alcohol was not detected in Bollin’s system, and he had no apparent injuries.

Bollin is currently in custody at the Isanti County Jail. He goes to court Thursday, Oct. 4 at 1:30 p.m. pending charges of criminal vehicular homicide.
