School District business manager resigns

Scott Nelson, business manager for the Milaca School District the past 20 months, has resigned, effective Nov. 16, to take a similar position in the St. Francis district.

Nelson, who has worked in school finance for the past 31 years, will be director of business services at St. Francis, a district with 4,800 students.

He was business manager in the Sleepy Eye (Minn.) district for three years before coming to Milaca.

“We’re going to miss him,” said Superintendent Jerry Hansen Monday. “He had a lot of experience in his field.”

Hansen said the district is in the search mode right now to find someone to replace Nelson.

“It would be ideal,” Hansen said, if the district could find someone by the Milaca School Board’s Nov. 13 meeting.

But, he noted the pool of possible applicants is not very large.
