Laverne (Lu) Carol Voronyak, age 69, ended her battle with ovarian cancer at home with her husband Saturday, 24 November 2012 in Golden Valley, MN. Born in Indio, CA, she was a 1960 graduate of Princeton High School. She married Michael G. Voronyak at Immanual Lutheran church in Princeton, Minnesota 03/07/64.
Laverne was preceded in death by her son Jonn M Voronyak and her parents Carold E. Keeler and Marilynn L. Rovang, both of Princeton, MN. She is survived by her husband Michael and dog Bear in Golden Valley, MN, her brother David Keeler in St. Cloud, MN, and Uncle Clairmont Keeler in Princeton, MN, nephew Troy Keeler (Kristi) and niece Tracy Bassamore (Joe), and several cousins.
She not only supported her husband’s career in the Air Force and volunteered many hours at her son’s various schools and activities, she was able to mold her own successful Human Relations career in Civil Service with the Army, Air Force and Dept. of Agriculture.
We would like to thank the friendly, knowledgeable personnel at the Fairview Maple Grove Medical Center, the Fairview University Hospital, and the Fairview Hospice Home Care for their professional care during Laverne’s difficult battle with ovarian cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Princeton. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church.
A fellowship will follow.
Inurnment with son Jonn will take place later in the Spring at St. Francis River Cemetery.
