Police Report: Week of January 17

The following incidents were reported to the Princeton Police Department between Jan. 7 and 14. The listed times are when the reports were made, not necessarily when the incidents occurred. Compiled by Joel Stottrup.


Monday, Jan. 7

9:03 a.m. Dog bite reported. No other info other than the involved address was 1217 3rd St. S.

11:38 a.m. Officer unsuccessfully tried to catch a brown stray dog in area of 604 Old Hwy. 18.

3:27 p.m. Assisted Humane Society of Minnesota regarding complaint agency received.

5:29 p.m. Request to remove subject from residence. Officer mediated civil and child custody issues and transported subject to Coborn’s.

8:17 p.m. Gas drive-off in the amount of just over $30 reported at the Marathon Station. Male suspect, 29, located by tribal police and arrested.

Tuesday, Jan. 8

1:10 a.m. Assisted Mille Lacs County on a traffic stop. Male arrested on a felony warrant.

5:18 p.m. Hit-and-run damage done between 1:05 and 5:15 p.m. to a legally-parked vehicle.

7:10 p.m. Arrested juvenile for shoplifting items at Coborn’s Little Dukes station.

8:31 p.m. Report of driver making “donuts” on city skating rink near civic center. Officer located suspect vehicle but driver denied report. Officer gave verbal warning for suspended object in car and advised driver to stay off the ice.

11:50 p.m. Officer advised resident of proper size of recreational fire.

11:56 p.m. Report of yelling in parking lot at 801 Rum River Dr. S. Located subject who said he had been on cell phone arguing with his mother.

Wednesday, Jan. 9

12:09 p.m. Report of juvenile striking another juvenile in face. Police to issue citation.

3:16 p.m. Report of an assault in high school parking lot after school day. Under investigation.

3:32 p.m. Fire alarm reported at Crystal Court Apartments. Turned out to be someone having burned food and there was no fire.

4:58 p.m. Arrested male, 21, on a Sherburne County warrant for probation violation.

7:30 p.m. Superior, Wis., police asked Princeton police to search location for runaway. Location turned out to be vacant house that had gone through a sheriff’s auction.

8:30 p.m. Report of apartment building resident being intoxicated and bothering other residents in building. Person agreed to stay in her apartment for rest of evening.

Thursday, Jan. 10

1:41 p.m. School district issued trespass notice to juvenile.

Friday, Jan. 11

3:16 a.m. Police checked out report of vehicle parked in traffic lane on Highway 169 south of Rum River Drive and observed two males asleep in vehicle. State Patrol arrested driver for DWI and Sherburne County arrested passenger for an outstanding warrant.

12:46 p.m. Officer advised homeowner to extinguish illegal burn.

4:28 p.m. Officer arrested female, 52, following report of disturbance.

5:38 p.m. Hit-and-run damage reported to rear bumper of vehicle.

7:35 p.m. Arrested male, 29, on a warrant for gross misdemeanor assault.

Saturday, Jan. 12

9:04 a.m. Uncooperative male at hospital. Male arrested and booked into Sherburne County jail for criminal damage to property, obstructing with force and disorderly conduct.

12:16 p.m. Coborn’s reported a shoplifter having left store.

3:07 p.m. Arrested female, 49, on a Pine County warrant.

9:39 p.m. Stopped vehicle for no lights on and cited driver for driving after suspension.

10:14 p.m. Stopped vehicle and removed license plate that was flagged to impound for alcohol reason.

Sunday, Jan. 13

3:23 a.m. Fake $10 bill passed at the Holiday station.

3:24 a.m. Fake $20 bill passed at the Holiday station.

4:16 a.m. Police arrested male, 44, on felony warrants and a fifth degree controlled substance violation and arrested female, 24, for misdemeanor warrant for theft. The driver was cited for driving after suspension.

8:04 a.m. Pop-up, two-person fish house reported to have fallen from truck between Princeton and Stanchfield Lake.

Monday, Jan. 14

12:24 a.m. Male arrested for person not to possess firearms and for disorderly conduct.
