Delmar Christensen

Delmar M. Christensen, 85, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Elim Care and Rehab Center in Princeton.
Delmar was born on November 25, 1927, in Springfield, Minn., the son of Helgar and Minnie (Guth) Christensen. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from May 1946 to September 1947, in Okinawa. Delmar married Margery Hall in Albert Lea on January 1, 1950. Delmar owned an Apco Service Station in Blaine. The couple moved to Princeton in 1972. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Princeton VFW 806, Woodcock-Herbst American Legion 216 of Princeton and a volunteer fireman for the Brooklyn Center Fire Department.   Delmar loved the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Vikings. He enjoyed camping with his homemade school bus camper and had a deep love for all of his grandchildren.Christensen,-Delmar001
Delmar is survived by his wife Marge; children Dona Simonson, Pamela (Greg) Maroney, Thomas (Carrie) Christensen, Gary (Barb) Christensen; grandchildren Kevin (Miranda) Maroney, Kristine (Scott) Dier, Jennifer (Cory) DeWitt, Rob (Liz) Christensen; and six great-grandchildren.
Delmar was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Princeton. Relatives and friends gathered on Sunday, March 3 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. All memorials will be donated.
