Princeton Panther town team baseball brings its storied tradition to another season on the diamonds this summer. The Panthers will open the 2013 campaign with a May 15 home game at Solheim Veteran’s Field against the Rockford River Bandits (7:30 p.m.).
Friday night, May 17, Princeton will host Anoka, then St. Francis comes to town Monday, May 20 (both games at 7:30 p.m.).
The Eastern Minny League will have a new look this season with the addition of the Sartell Stone Poneys and the Ogilvie Outlaws. The EML will be split into two halves: the West (Princeton, Rum River, Nowthen, Sartell) and the East (Hinckley, Mora, Ogilvie and Quamba). The Panthers’ Eastern Minny opener will be May 29 at home against Hinckley.
The Panthers currently have 20 players on its 2013 roster, led by multi-season veterans Jesse Zimmer, Mark Beattie, Ryan Carling, Josh Ludwig, Jordan Neubauer and Joe Swanson. There are six first-year Panthers on the roster which holds a mix of players hailing from Princeton, Zimmerman, Cambridge and Elk River.
Cambridge Classic Softball Tourney
The 18th annual Cambridge Classic will be hosted June 7-9 at Sandquist Park in Cambridge. Men’s and Women’s brackets, guaranteed three games. To enter, contact Duke Weisbrod (612-702-8183 or [email protected]).
Lodermeier Memorial Softball Tourney
The 2nd annual Michael (Lody) Lodermeier Memorial Softball Tournament will be hosted Saturday, July 27 at the Lindbergh Lions Rec Complex in Little Falls.
