William Van Beek

William “Bill” R. Van Beek, age 68, of Zimmerman, passed away on June 1, 2013, after a brave fight with brain cancer. He was surrounded by loving family and friends at his side. William-Van-Beek
Bill was predeceased in death by his parents Ethelyn and Russell; brother Robert; sisters Kathleen and Helen.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; children Heidi (Robert) Skuza, Bill Jr. (Kerri), Jennifer Lammers (Steven Zimmel) and Amy (Mathew) Reiter; siblings Russell (Jacki), Nancy (Harry) Robinson, Edward (Kaye), Pete (Cindy), Tom (Nancy), Al (Joni), Sue Noel, Ruth Holum, Ethie (Jeff) Sutliff, Chris, Dave (Jody); adoring grandchildren Mackenzie, Allison, Autumn, Jonathan, Cameron, Owen and Ava; and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War and a proud member of Local 49 as a crane operator. After rebuilding the 35W Bridge, he retired to spend more time doing what he loved: fishing, hunting, playing cards, being on the lake, and spending time with family and friends.
A memorial service is at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 111 N. 6th Ave., Princeton (763-389-2671), with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m.
