Man found dead in local hotel

Princeton Police and Fire departments, as well as the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office, swarmed the AmericInn parking lot around noon Wednesday after hotel staff placed a call to authorities.Hotel-death
A gray, four-door sedan was soon surrounded by police tape and squad cars. After investigators from the sheriff’s office arrived on scene, technicians with fiber optic camera equipment entered the hotel. When crews exited the building at nearly 1 p.m., Princeton Police Chief Brian Payne said they had discovered a guest had died in one of the hotel rooms.
“When I first started in law enforcement, we handled these types of situations much differently than we do now,” Payne said of the added precautions concerning the guest’s vehicle and the equipment presumably used to view the guest room prior to police entry.
Authorities have not released the name of the man found dead in the hotel room, but Payne did say they do not suspect foul play.
“It was an unfortunate situation,” Payne said.
The incident is under investigation by the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office.
