Naomi L. Stay, age 92 of Princeton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at the Elim Home in Princeton.
Naomi Lucille Stay was born on June 14, 1921, in Rush City to Charles and Freda (Johnson) Peterson. She attended school three years in Rush City and then her family moved to Princeton. She graduated from Princeton High School.
Naomi married Russell Stay on January 14, 1950. They lived on a farm in Greenbush Township and later move in to Princeton in 1973. Naomi worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for 36 years. She retired from Northwestern Bell.
Naomi loved playing the piano and organ. Gospel music was her favorite. She and Russell both enjoyed fishing together at their summer home on Dora Lake near Northhome. Naomi liked embroidering and embroidered many towels. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her number one priority in her life.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Russell Stay; daughter Carolyn (Tony) Burke; daughter-in-law Bev Stay; grandchildren Curtis (Crystalyn) Burke, Charles Burke, Terry Burke, Emily Burke, Mark (Shannon) Stay, Mitchell Stay; great granddaughters Adelia and Eliana Stay.
She was preceded in death by her son Duane Stay, parents Charles and Freda Peterson, and her eight siblings.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 25 at the Wyanett Evangelical Free Church in Princeton. Interment was at Wyanett Cemetery.
