Cathedral trims Milaca – teams will meet again in section

St. Cloud Cathedral defeated Milaca 40-6 in a Granite Ridge Conference football game Wednesday night (Oct. 16) at Milaca’s Claffy Field.

It was the final regular season game for both teams. Milaca finished 2-5 in the GRC and 2-6 overall while Cathedral finished 4-3 in the GRC and 4-4 overall.

The teams will meet again in five days in the first round of the Section 5AAA Playoff. The Crusaders will host the Wolves Tuesday night, Oct. 22 at St. Cloud State University’s Husky Stadium, which is Cathedral’s home field. Game time is 7 o’clock.

Cathedral senior quarterback Jeff Fasching completed 18 of 34 passes for 267 yards and four touchdowns, with one interception.

Milaca sophomore quarterback Nathan Hass completed 13 of 34 passes for 145 yards and one touchdown, with three interceptions. He connected with senior wide receiver Trevor Roelofs on a 37-yard scoring pass in the second quarter.

Roelofs had four receptions for 77 yards.
