I want send out a warm and humble “thank you!”
My husband, my love, Tom Vrchota passed away in his sleep Sunday morning on September 22.
As I look back at that horrible day, I remember the selflessness of Sheriff’s Deputy Brad Hunt, as he was the first to enter my house. I was a mess and he met me with such grace. My fondest memory of his actions was how he stood outside my bedroom door while my husband rested, as if he were protecting a king.
I also want to thank Princeton Police Officer Eric Minks, as he took my phone from my shaking hands to help look up numbers to reach my family. He also stayed to comfort me and my family.
I want to thank my church, New Life, for coming to be by my side to help where they could; my family at South Elementary jumped into action to support Will and I with such loving kindness; the Princeton and American Family Insurance communities for reaching out and sharing your memories of how Tom touched your lives. This is a top-notch community we live in.
For my siblings, from both sides, Vrchotas and Hoehns have blended into one family that can never be broken. They moved in for the week and I felt so safe and cared for as they helped plan Tom’s celebration of life.
I miss him every second, but I know I am in good hands. I feel God’s arms around me and my kids. My community and my family are the best.
Gratefully, I say thank you!
Jessie Vrchota and family
