Sheriff, county attorney get 1 percent salary increase in Mille Lacs County

The Mille Lacs County Board has given a 1 percent salary increase to Sheriff Brent Lindgren and County Attorney Jan Jude, pushing Lindgren’s salary to $103,422 and Jude’s to $110,145. The board has left Auditor Treasurer Phil Thompson’s salary for 2014 the same as this year at $85,345.

County boards are required to set the new year’s salaries for these officials before the current year ends.

The board, in other action on Dec. 17, passed a resolution that keeps the salaries for the county commissioners the same in 2014 as 2013, which is $17,304.

The board also held the line on per diem for the commissioners to attend meetings other than the regular monthly county business meetings the first and third Tuesdays. The per diem will be staying at $45.

The board also is keeping the per diem at $45 for citizen members (excluding county employees) on board-appointed advisory committees.

The resolution states that the commissioners are to receive traveling expenses for commuting to and from meetings.
