Join March Mania at Princeton Area Library

So you thought that March was just all about the NCAA basketball tournament.  Not so at the Princeton Area Library branch of East Central Regional Library!  All ages are invited to participate in our Heroes vs Villains March Mania contest.  The Heroes and Villains were chosen from kids and teen books and movies.  Pick up a Heroes vs Villains bracket at the Princeton Area Library and return it no later than Wednesday, March 5.  No completed brackets will be accepted after March 5.

There will be two brackets – one with 16 Heroes and one with 16 Villains for a total of 32.   Pick the winners in each bracket plus the ultimate winner and you could win.  Instead of picking the Notre Dame or Duke basketball team to win, you might pick Katniss (from  Hunger Games) over Sherlock Holmes in the Hero bracket and maybe a Dementor (from Harry Potter) over Darth Vadar (from Star Wars) in the Villain bracket.  Winners will be chosen by the number of votes each Hero and/or Villain receives.    If 7 of 10 entries pick Katniss over Sherlock Holmes – Katniss will be declared the winner.

Winners from the first 16 matches will be posted at the library on March 10; winners from the next 8 matches posted on March 17; and winners from the semi-finals on March 24.  Come back to the library each Monday the winners are posted and vote for the next set of winners.   You will receive points for every correct match that you pick as the weeks go on.  The winner of the ultimate Hero vs the ultimate Villain will be posted and the winner announced on March 31.  You must have turn in a completed bracket by March 5 in order to be eligible for the grand prize.  The winner of the Hero vs Villain March Mania tournament will win a prize courtesy of the Friends of the Princeton Area Library.

Sometimes the best battles are fought in books.  Who are you rooting for?  A Hero or a Villain?  Don’t let all the sports fanatics have the only fun this March.  Stop by the Princeton Area  Library and pick up a Hero vs Villain bracket and give yourself a chance to win and experience East Central Regional Library’s version of March Mania.  Basketball has nothing over libraries J
