Two suspects in custody after Elk River home invasion

On February 13, 2014, at approximately 9:05 a.m. the Elk River Police Department responded to a possible home invasion in the 18500 block of Quincy Court.

Two suspects forced their way into the home, assaulted the husband and wife and forced the husband to leave the residence with them. The suspects fled the scene in a red Cadillac. Responding officers located the injured husband outside of the residence. He was transported by ambulance for treatment of his injuries.

A description of the suspect vehicle was sent to surrounding agencies. A vehicle matching the description was located by the Rogers Police Department traveling east on I-94 from highway 101.  The vehicle made a U-turn and began fleeing west in the eastbound lanes of I-94. The Rogers Police Department pursued the vehicle, which exited onto Main Street, and continued fleeing east on Hennepin County Road 81. The suspect vehicle crashed in the area of County Road 81 and Brockton Lane in Rogers. Two suspects were taken into custody.

A motive for the home invasion is not known at this time. The Elk River Police Department and Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
