Touch & Go Car Wash opens on Milaca’s east side

Touch & Go Car Wash opened in mid-February, but it already has been raking in rave reviews and plenty of business even in the frigid winter weather.
Jeff Pohl, owner of Touch & Go, has been in Milaca since 1997. While he hasn’t owned a business in Milaca before, he has owned a business in the past.
Pohl said he was sick of driving to Princeton for a good car wash, so he decided to open his business to benefit the community.
Pohl had some extra space in his new building at 850 10th Ave. NE that was not used by the machine room or car wash, so he added a self-serve pet wash, as well.
The car wash opened Feb. 18. Pohl said business has been going well ever since. On the first day, Pohl said he had no signs for the building yet, but a “Now Open” sign attracted 48 cars. On the second day, the makeshift sign brought in 78 more cars.
Now that the business has been open for a while, Pohl said he gets about 20 to 30 cars a day, even when the temperatures drop below zero.
What’s unique about this car wash is that it is open every day of the year, 24 hours a day, thanks to in-floor heating. The automatic car wash is open 24 hours a day, and the pet wash and self-serve car wash are open 4 a.m. to midnight.
While some comments have been left on the Touch & Go Facebook page, Pohl said he also wants to hear feedback from community members to make the car wash better.
Touch & Go Car Wash accepts cash, coin and credit cards.
Pohl also said once the snow and ice melt, he will be putting in a parking lot.
