Princeton totaled 368 points to place behind invite champ Duluth East’s 314. Zimmerman (384), Anoka (390), Tiger JV (391) and Pine City (422) also competed on the beautiful Friday morning at the club. East’s Matt Mellin was meet medalist with a 76.
Brody Johnson placed 5th with his 86 to lead the Tiger boys (left), followed closely by Ben Pauly (92), Jared Seifert (94) and Griffin Fitzgerald (96). Also firing for the PHS varsity were Marshall Bies (100) and Clay Nelson (104). Cade Wyluda and Drew Goskey led the Princeton JV boys with both carding 95s.
M-8 season wrapping up
The Buffalo teams swept the championships when the Mississippi 8 18-hole finals were held at North Fork GC May 21. The Bison’s Josh Fischman was boys medalist with a 71, and Lexi Bollant led four Buffalo girls in the top five of the individual standings with her 72.
Fitzgerald posted the Tiger boys low round of 91 that day. He was followed by Pauly (98), Nelson (101), Seifert (102), Bies (102) and Johnson (104).
The Princeton girls also shot at North Fork on Thursday. Brianna Dorr led the way for the team with a 103. Also scoring for the Tigers were Megan Anderson (111), Kelsey Dorr (117) and Katie Hicks (120).
The M-8 East boys got in one more meet at Grand National GC in Hinckley on May 27 to officially wrap up the regular season and determine All-Conference placings. Both Tiger squads will next compete against the tough field at the May 31 and June 2 Section 7AAA tournament hosted once again on the Grand National layout.
