William  Keen

William (Bill) Keen, age 94, of Princeton, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his home.
He was born January 26, 1920 in Princeton Township, the son of Ernest and Lydia Keen.
Bill grew up in Princeton and attended Princeton Schools. He later joined the United States National Guard and Army. He proudly served in World War II in Italy and North Africa and was stationed in New York City. During his time with the Army he took motor mechanics classes and became well versed in how to fix cars and other machinery. On December 29, 1945, Bill was united in marriage to Alice Yeager at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Princeton. To this union two children were born. Bill worked for General Motors as a mechanic and troubleshooter for many years. He then worked at Federal Cartridge and retired from there. Bill enjoyed music and singing and the great outdoors. He especially loved old country western music from John Denver as well as Garth Brooks. Bill was the epitome of a Christian; he was very giving and a friend to everyone. He will be dearly missed.
Bill is survived by his children, Ralph Keen of Princeton and Connie Mutchler of Elk River; grandchildren, Gary Mutchler, Michael Mutchler, Elizabeth Keen, and Barbara Ann Keen; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Emma, Trenton, and Ethan Mutchler and Aaron Skog; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and their families.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; his parents; siblings Walter, Otto, Eddie and Lydia Skoglund.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 5 at 2:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Princeton. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4 from 5-7 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Oak Knoll Cemetery in Princeton.
Arrangements are entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Princeton.
