Princeton Police Report: Week of June 5

The following incidents were reported to the Princeton Police Department May 26 through June 1. The listed times are not necessarily when the incidents occurred but when they were reported. They were compiled by Jeff Hage.


Monday, May 26

1:35 a.m. Verbal domestic dispute in the 300 block of 14th Avenue S. Officers mediated issues.

6:56 a.m. A male was reported sleeping near the ATV tracks on Highway 95. Subject identified. He was waiting for a ride.

8:27 a.m. A fight broke out between neighbors on Fourth Avenue S. when one neighbor became upset because there were grass clippings in his yard that he believed were contaminated from a methamphetamine lab that was alleged to be on the property 15 years ago.

11:52 a.m. A gas drive-off in the amount of $24.78 was reported at Holiday.

2:39 p.m. Assisted Mille Lacs County with searching for a vehicle involved in a burglary on Beetle Road.

7:06 p.m. Responded to an accident on Highway 169 at Rum River Drive in which a wheel fell off a vehicle, causing the driver to lose control. No injuries were reported.

Tuesday, May 27

1:54 a.m. Suspicious activity was reported at the ice arena. A door was found open on the back side. The theft of a John Deere riding lawn mower was reported. An officer sustained an unknown injury as a result of the incident.

4:42 a.m. Investigated a report of an SUV driving south on Highway 169 while dragging a garbage can behind the vehicle. Officer located vehicle in Zimmerman. Driver said he hooked the handle of the garbage can on his trailer hitch in order to leave it at the end of his driveway for garbage pick-up. Driver forgot to unhitch the can.

12:24 p.m. Assisted Cambridge Police with a robbery.

3:40 p.m. Responded to a vehicle crash on Highway 95 at Highway 169. No injuries reported. Vehicles were towed.

7:15 p.m. A hit-and-run between a vehicle and a tree was reported in the 500 block of Ninth Avenue S. Tree in yard was damaged. Vehicle debris collected at the scene.

Wednesday, May 28

2:16 p.m. Keys to a lawn mower in the 800 block of Eighth Avenue S. were reported taken.

4:50 p.m. A 9-year-old on a bicycle ran into a vehicle in the 500 block of Third Street N. Child received minor injuries. No damage to vehicle.

5:17 p.m. Arrested a male on a Benton County warrant in the 600 block of 10th Avenue S.

10:47 p.m. Assisted Sherburne County with a report of a carjacking on 313th Avenue in Baldwin Township.

11:35 p.m. Assisted Milaca Police in checking the area for a burglary suspect.

Thursday, May 29

1:05 p.m. Responded to a report of a verbal dispute in the 1100 block of Fourth Street NW.

2:59 p.m. An assault was reported at the Princeton hospital. No charges were filed.

4:01 p.m. Recovered a vehicle stolen out of Scott County. Vehicle was located in 100 block of Sixth Avenue N.

4:45 p.m. An individual turned in a found wallet. Officer took wallet to Mille Lacs County Jail where owner was staying.

6:13 p.m. Assisted Sherburne County in attempting to locate a suspect wanted for robbery and assault.

6:51 p.m. A 35-year-old male was arrested for domestic assault in the 1400 block of 16th Avenue N.

11:12 p.m. Assisted Milaca Police with a K-9 sniff of Milaca Building Center, 100 Third Ave. SW, where an alarm had sounded. Because of recent burglaries in area, a more detailed search was requested.

Friday, May 30

2:50 a.m. Assisted Mille Lacs County with a motorcycle pursuit on 55th Street.

11:40 p.m. Assisted Mille Lacs County and the State Patrol on a traffic stop on 85th Avenue. Driver fled from the traffic stop. Subject was located hiding in the tree line. He was arrested by the State Patrol.

Saturday, May 31

12:31 a.m. Officer saw a vehicle in Riverside Park after hours. Driver failed field sobriety test with a 0.22. The 33-year-old male was arrested for DWI.

Sunday, June 1

2:51 a.m. A vehicle was reported to be stuck in a yard on Ninth Street at Sixth Avenue N.

4:14 a.m. Assisted Sherburne County with a domestic dispute involving a gun on 137th Street NW. A male and female were both intoxicated. Female threatened to shoot the male with a gun.

2:54 p.m. Attempted theft at Wal-Mart. Suspects were stopped by loss prevention while trying to leave the store with a full cart of merchandise.

5:05 p.m. Attempted theft of clothing was reported at Wal-Mart.
