Milaca Church League softball playoffs began on Aug. 4

After the two-month regular season of softball, playoffs began last week in both the A and AA divisions of the Milaca Church League on Aug. 4-7.

The A playoffs began on Monday, Aug. 4 as Milaca Alliance topped New Life Christian Center II 16-1. New Life II lost out in the next game in an 18-6 game against Mora Baptist TRIO. TRIO then lost to Milaca Baptist 10-6, and Milaca Free topped Princeton Trinity 8-2 to close out Monday’s games.

On day two of the playoffs it was the AA playoffs that began. Freshwater UMC toppled Bethel Christian Reformed 9-4 in the night’s opening game. New Life Christian Center I then drubbed Milaca Zion 17-2 in game two. The third game pitted Pease Chrisitian Reformed against New Life III, and Pease came out on top 7-6. Lastly, St. Louis/St. Mary’s took down Bock Emanuel 11-1.

The A playoffs second day of games took place on Aug. 6. In game one, Milaca Alliance beat Milaca First Baptist 17-9. Milaca Baptist fell once more 15-13 in the second game to Princeton Trinity. Milaca Free were victors over Princeton Free 11-3 in the third game of the night. The final game ended with a 19-12 win for Mora Baptist Trio over Milaca Princeton Free.

The final night of games for the week was on Aug. 7 as the AA teams again hit the fields in Milaca. Freshwater UMC snuck out a close one over St. Louis/St. Mary’s 5-4, while it was Bock Emanuel who narrowly won over Bethel Christian Reformed 8-7. Pease Christian Reformed rolled over New Life I 10-5, and New Life III trampled Milaca Zion 20-4.

Playoffs continued on Aug. 11, and will culminate with championship games on Aug. 13-14.
