Princeton Police Report: Week of Aug. 28

The Princeton Police Department received the following calls Aug. 15-25. The listed times are when the reports were received and not necessarily when incidents occurred. Compiled by Joel Stottrup.


Friday, Aug. 15

9:25 a.m. Police arrested a male, 27, for violating city ordinance by firing an air-powered firearm in city limits.

12:36 p.m. A woman, 32, was cited for shoplifting at Coborn’s.

1:29 p.m. A woman, 69, was cited for shoplifting at Coborn’s.

3:16 p.m. A man, 24, was cited for shoplifting at Coborn’s.

6:30 p.m. Arrested a car passenger who was wanted by Mille Lacs County and transferred to deputy.

Saturday, Aug. 16

3:38 a.m. Report of intoxicated juvenile male riding bicycle. Located and observed signs of intoxication. Brought to residence and released to his mother. Citation to be issued for minor consumption and curfew violation.

11:41 a.m. Missing juvenile: Two individuals ran away with each other after stealing mother’s vehicle. Subjects placed in secure detention.

12:30 Missing juvenile: Two individuals ran away with each other after stealing mother’s vehicle. Subjects to be placed in secure detention. (Different address than the 11:41 a.m. report.)

9 p.m. Harassment complaint. Person reported that someone was harassing her dog by using electric devices that bothered its hearing.

Sunday, Aug. 17

11:17 a.m. A Family Dollar employee reported an individual had shoplifted in the business. Suspect was gone upon police arrival.

Monday, Aug. 18

7:30 p.m. Three bicycles identified as stolen located and returned to owners.

8:49 p.m. Arrested male, 19, for shoplifting at Coborn’s. Citation to be mailed.

Tuesday, Aug. 19

8:30 a.m. Attempt was made the night before to siphon fuel from vehicle. Officer observed gas cap and red military style gas can next to vehicle. Can taken from scene and disposed of.

1:31 p.m. Theft reported at Wal-Mart.

Wednesday, Aug. 20

6:35 a.m. Driver swerved on 21st Avenue while reaching down to pick up a phone and hit light pole. PUC notified.

12:48 p.m. Dog complaint and threats complaint reported.

9:16 p.m. Palmer school bus employee reported suspicious activity involving three teens standing near bus garage.

10:47 p.m. Fraud, forgery, scam. A cashier at the Circle 9 Marathon station reported that a male had made two separate purchases with large bills and then started asking for change. Cashier said that when she later counted her cash register till, she was short $100.

Thursday, Aug. 21

12:47 a.m. Complaint of male staggering down middle of Rum River Drive. Officer located and spoke with male about the complaint. Officer reported the male had blood alcohol level of 0.21, was on probation for gross misdemeanor DWI and was not supposed to be using alcohol.

4:35 p.m. Landlord reported that a former tenant had been posting comments online that the landlord believed were slanderous.

8:09 p.m. Juvenile shoplifter cited for theft of items at Wal-Mart valued at nearly $29.

Friday, Aug. 22

5:39 a.m. Vehicle in ditch with rear part of vehicle on roadway. Cited driver for driving after revocation.

6:15 p.m. Verbal disturbance.

9:38 p.m. Threats complaint. Woman reported her adult son was being harassed by other adult males.

11:24 p.m. Report of person lying in yard. Officer reported subject was intoxicated and transported to person’s residence.

Saturday, Aug. 23

12:13 a.m. Stopped vehicle for white light to the rear and expired tabs. Cited driver for no Minnesota driver’s license.

12:45 a.m. Male was observed running up to drive-thru window at McDonald’s, grabbing a bag of food that an employee was handing to customer in vehicle, and fleeing.

3:13 p.m. Harassment complaint.

8:11 p.m. Verbal disturbance.

11:44 p.m. Stopped vehicle for improper use of lane and cited driver for driving after suspension.

Sunday, Aug. 24

12:35 a.m. Cited driver for driving 65 mph in a 55 mph zone.

12:49 a.m. Cited driver for driving after revocation.

11:53 a.m. Cited driver for driving after suspension and semaphore violation.

6:17 p.m. Report of intoxicated driver leaving Wal-Mart area with a child.

Monday, Aug. 25

12:20 a.m. Criminal damage to property at concession stand in Mark Park. Metal sliding window had been pried open. It appeared nothing was disturbed inside building. Under investigation.

1:14 a.m. Responded to medical involving very intoxicated female.
