School Board Briefs- Aug. 19 meeting

Job duties for PAC coordinator
The School Board approved a job description for the district’s performing arts center coordinator. Linda Evans retired from the job earlier this year after 20 years in the position. The job qualifications include having previous experience in fine arts activities, training in use of PAC operations and equipment, the ability to communicate effectively, the ability to organize multiple events and activities simultaneously, and two years of college.
The supervisor will be the activities director, which is at the high school where the PAC is located. The proposed annual pay for the position is $48,500, which would mean an increase in the district budget of $22,620.

Labor contracts approved
The board approved new two-year labor contracts for the unionized groups of paraprofessionals and secretaries in the district for the fiscal years July 2013 through June 30, 2015.
