Two injured in crash at school bus stop east of Bock

Two Milaca residents were injured Thursday, Feb. 5 in a vehicle crash at about 4 p.m. on Highway 23 about a half mile east of Bock.

One vehicle rear ended another that was stopped for a school bus that was dropping off children at a school bus stop along Highway 23, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Injured were  Mary J. Lambert, 53, of Milaca and Justin L. Bolander, 18, of Milaca.

According to the State Patrol:

Lambert was driving a 2002 Buick Lesabre eastbound on Highway 23 when it stopped for a school bus that was dropping off children.

As the bus was leaving its stop, the Lambert started accelerating when she was hit by a 2000 Mazda Protege driven by Bolander.

Lambert was transported by ambulance to Fairview Northland Medical Center in  Princeton with non-life-threatening injuries. Bolander was privately transported to the same hospital.

The Lambert vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. The Bolander vehicle sustained severe damage and was also towed from the scene.

The Milaca Fire Department assisted at the scene.
