Deal for Habitat homes gets closer

Community Development Director Jolene Foss briefed the council on what East Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity needs to possibly develop three homes in Princeton during 2017 at two sites on Ninth Street and one on Old Highway 18. Habitat owns one of the lots while the city owns the other two. Habitat asked for donation of the two lots Princeton acquired with Minnesota Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds, waived sewer- and water-connection fees and campground discounts for building teams. The council agreed except for the fee dismissal and chose to instead offer a 60 percent discount.
