Man dies in Baldwin head-on crash

BALDWIN TOWNSHIP – Two people are dead after a pair of fatal crashes on Princeton area roads.

On Thursday, May 11, a Zimmerman man was killed when his vehicle collided with another head on.
According to Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott, Tim Morgan, 22, was traveling south on Sherburne County Road 19 near the intersection of County Road 38 in Baldwin Township just before 11 p.m. when his Pontiac Grand Prix and a Jeep Cherokee driven by Jenna Benson, 30, of Princeton, collided.
Morgan died at the scene. Benson and her 2-year-old daughter were transported by ambulance to Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
A 49-year-old Buffalo man was killed Saturday, May 13, in a two- vehicle crash on Highway 95 west of Princeton near Glendorado.
Robert Francis Kuhn died at the scene of the 10:30 a.m. Saturday crash when his 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer struck a vehicle driven by David Heim, 80, at Highway 95 and County Road 7 in Benton County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Kuhn was northbound on Benton County Road 7 and did not stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Minnesota Highway 95. Kuhn’s vehicle collided with the semitrailer.
Heim was not injured in the crash, the State Patrol stated. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
On Sunday, May 14, four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of highways 23 and 95 in Sauk Rapids. In that crash, a vehicle driven by 87-year-old Jeanette Smoley, of Watkins, was westbound on Highway 23 and was attempting to make a left turn to go eastbound on Highway 95. Smoley did not stop for the red light and pulled in front of an eastbound vehicle on Highway 23 driven by 22-year-old Raya Myers, of St. Cloud. Smoley and her passenger, 90-year-old Leroy Smoley, of Watkins, were both taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Myers and her passenger, 9-year-old Isaiah Martin, of St. Cloud, were also taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
On Monday, May 9, Coltin Monroe, 20, was injured in a Highway 95 crash in Wyanett Township east of Princeton. The crash occurred at 9:08 p.m. Highway 95 at Jarvis Street in Isanti County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Monroe was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Devon Aitkinson, 17, of Princeton. Monroe was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
