Department looks toward new fire truck

Princeton Fire Chief Ron Lawrence briefed the City Council about the department’s 32-year-old ladder truck it bought used and how it will need to be replaced within the next few years at an estimated cost of $900,000 to $1.4 million. Lawrence said a recent inspection revealed issues such as oil leaks, a dysfunctional ladder and worn pads and cables. He said the department would be applying for a grant to pay for the truck but if received, the grant would require a 5 percent match from the city.
