Knifing results in multiple injuries

Multiple people were treated at the emergency room at Fairview Northland Medical Center early Monday, July 3, after an incident in Isanti County that involved a knife.
The incident occurred at about 12 a.m. in the area of Isanti County Road 5 and 309th Ave. NW in Spencer Brook Township, according to the Isanti County Sheriff’s Office.
Isanti County deputies learned that a group of five adults and juveniles trespassed onto a property and entered a home on the property, according to the sheriff’s department. They were confronted by the homeowner when an altercation occurred.
At one point a knife was used during the altercation and several people were injured. All injured parties drove themselves to the Princeton hospital. Hospital personnel called law enforcement and notified them of the incident, according to the sheriff’s department.
Luci Engell-Murphy was at the ER when the knife victims arrived at the hospital. She contacted the Union-Times through its Facebook page and reported an adult was in one of the hospital rooms bloodied and restrained with an apparent head wound. A juvenile at the hospital was in handcuffs, she said.
Deputies with the Isanti County Sheriff’s Office continue to obtain statements from those involved. It has been complicated by the fact that everyone involved had left the scene.
The reports will be sent to the Isanti County attorney for review and consideration of potential charges.
