Milaca and 11 other teams competed in Milaca’s Early Bird Invitational at Stone’s Throw Golf Course. Mora, the defending champion, retained top honors, taking the top five spots and six of the first seven to earn a minimum score of 15 on the girls’ side.

Overall, the Milaca boys placed 10th, but Coach Dave Dillan isn’t worried. He says the first race is just a baby step towards possibly closing the gap.
“We just needed to get the ball rolling,” he said. “We’ve got some new kids, they had to learn how to run a race and prepare for a race. Now we can work on some of our pacing,”
Jack Berg and Anton Erickson were varsity first-timers and they finished one spot apart, Erickson in 50th in 22:08 and Berg in 51st in 22:26.
