Princeton Pantry terminated by Second Harvest

Pantry letter.jpg

A photo of the first page of a letter sent to the Princeton Area Pantry and addressed to its President Pastor Bob Hasinfelt from the Minnesota Department of Human Services in November 2023. The letter states that the pantry was notified of corrective actions needed by the pantry’s two locations to prevent its contract with Second Harvest Northland from being terminated. Those corrective actions were not taken, and the Princeton Area Pantry locations were terminated by the organization in February.

The Princeton Area Pantry is facing controversy after its contract with hunger-relief organization Second Harvest Northland was terminated back in February.

The news was kept under wraps by the pantry’s board of directors until an anonymous Facebook user made a post — now deleted — in the group “Princeton Bulletin Board” a few days before the board meeting on Monday, April 1.
